Power and Conservation Council, Northwest

Administers the Pacific Northwest Electric Power and Conservation Act. Gives the citizens of Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington a stronger voice in determining the future of key resources common to all four states, namely, the electricity generated at and fish and wildlife affected by the Columbia River Basin hydropower dams. The Council is also in the process of completing a fish and wildlife program and a 20-year regional power plan, under the Power Act.

Member Requirements: The members and officers and employees of the Council shall not be deemed to be officers or employees of the United States for any purpose. One member to the council shall reside east of the crest of the Cascade Mountains and one member shall reside west of the crest of the Cascade Mountains.
