LTC Worker Training Workgroup
The Long Term Care Worker Training Workgroup is a separate entity from the Long-Term Care Task Force, but working in parallel on LTC worker training issues. The Long Term Care Worker Training Workgroup is charged with evaluating current training requirements for long-term care workers with respect to the quality of care provided to all people across all home and community-based long-term care settings. The Workgroup will make recommendations relating to the:
- Appropriate number of basic training hours;
- Content of basic training curricula; and
- Development of criteria associated with certification of new long-term care workers.
The workgroup will report its findings to the Joint Long-Term Care Task Force, the Governor and the appropriate legislative committees by December 1, 2007.
