- For those displaced by the fires, you can find community resources to help with temporary housing and rental assistance.
- Find temporary rentals or short-term leases with HousingSearchNW. If you are a property owner or landlord, please consider listing your rental property for free on this site.
- Washington State Animal Response Team emergency shelters
- If a wildfire has affected your income or expenses, contact your credit card companies or other lenders before you miss a payment. Many financial institutions offer short-term hardship plans, which may offer payment deferrals or other temporary help.

State & federal resources
Business assistance
The Department of Revenue is offering help to businesses and property owners who have been impacted by Washington wildfires. Here is a link to more information. Businesses affected by wildfire damage that cannot file and pay their excise tax returns on time should contact Revenue to request a filing extension before the filing deadline. Property owners whose properties were damaged or destroyed can submit a Destroyed Property form to their County Assessor to adjust the taxable value of the properties.
Driver license and document replacement
Support is available for DOL customers impacted by Washington wildfires. Here is a link to more information. Customers can get a no-charge replacement for driver licenses, ID cards, vehicle titles, or vessel titles lost because of the wildfires. In addition, DOL issued business or professional licenses can be renewed late without penalty if impacted by the wildfires.
Vital Records replacement
Washingtonians affected by the wildfires can request Vital Records certificates at no charge. Here is a link to the form. This includes certificates for births, deaths, marriages, and divorces that took place in the state of Washington.

Unemployment assistance: Workers and businesses impacted by wildfires may qualify for unemployment benefits or assistance.
Veteran assistance: Veterans who have been affected by wildfires and need help should contact their County Veterans Program. Also, there are specific resources available for Eastern Washington veterans impacted by the August 2026 wildfires.
