Industrial Insurance Appeals, Board of

Hears appeals from decisions made by the Department of Labor and Industries in several areas such as the Industrial Insurance (worker's compensation), safety citations under the Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act (WISHA), and Employer Premium (tax assessments and classifications). The Board members issue the final decision in every dispute appealed to the agency and act as managers of the agency itself.

Member Requirements: Chair is an attorney, appointed from a mutually agreed to list of not less than three active or judicial members of the Washington state bar association, submitted by Association of Washington Business and the Washington State Labor Council.

The other two members shall be business representative appointed from a list of not less than three names submitted by the Association of Washington Business, and a labor representative appointed from a list of not less than three names submitted by the Washington State Labor Council.
