Governor Ferguson awards $350K to Portal Space Systems for Bothell expansion

OLYMPIA - Governor Bob Ferguson announced today that he is directing $350,000 from the Governor’s Economic Development Strategic Reserve Fund (SRF) into an expansion of Bothell-based Portal Space Systems. This helps the aerospace company grow its planned satellite manufacturing facility and brings it one step closer to leading the space race. The expansion is expected to create more than 100 jobs in the next two years and more than 700 jobs by 2030.

Governor Bob Ferguson today declared an emergency as a result of a shutdown of the Olympic Pipeline following a fuel leak near Everett. The shutdown has disrupted jet fuel transportation to SEA (Seattle-Tacoma) International Airport, which relies directly on the pipeline for jet fuel deliveries.

OLYMPIA — Today, Governor Bob Ferguson joined representatives from Ballmer Group Philanthropy to announce a new grant to dramatically expand Washington’s Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP), which provides access to high-quality preschool to low-income families. The Ballmer Group has committed to funding up to 10,000 additional seats for the next 10 years.
