Member Requirements: The commission shall be administered by an executive director, who shall be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the governor. The governor shall base the appointment of the executive director on recommendations of the commission.

Hispanic Affairs, Commission on

Improves public policy development and the delivery of government services to the Hispanic community by serving in an advisory capacity to the Governor, state legislature, and local agencies on issues impacting the Hispanic community. The Commission was created by a Governor's Executive Order and established in a statute in 1971 and started as a strong grassroots movement that works within the framework of state legislation.
