Inslee statement commending bipartisan Murray-Alexander health care plan

Story Body

"I commend and thank my fellow Washingtonian, Sen. Patty Murray, for her leadership in developing a bipartisan plan to stabilize and improve our nation's health care system. Her proposal with Sen. Lamar Alexander reflects precisely the kind of bipartisan cooperation that has been sorely lacking in Congress this year, and would result in lower health care costs and more choices for middle-class families across America.

"Congress should act on this agreement, without delay, and not allow President Trump's disposition for chaos, confusion and politically-motivated sabotage to derail this important process. It is too important for many Washingtonians' lives.

"In the meantime, our state will continue its progress expanding access to affordable, quality health coverage. Beginning on Nov. 1st, Washington families will be able to enroll in one of over 40 qualified health plans for 2018, at www.wahealthplanfinder.org. I encourage all Washingtonians to get covered."
