Inslee appoints Rachelle Anderson to Spokane County Superior Court

Story Body

Gov. Jay Inslee appointed Rachelle E. Anderson to Spokane County Superior Court today. She replaces Judge Ellen Clark, who is retiring at the end of the year.

Anderson has more than eight years of service on the bench as a Superior Court commissioner and more than two decades of experience practicing law in Spokane Superior, District and Municipal courts. During her time as Superior Court Commissioner, she has worked on family law, juvenile dependency, at-risk youth, domestic violence and guardianship issues.

She is a member of the Spokane Bar Association and a former member of the Washington State Young Lawyers Division. She serves as chair of the Superior Court Judges Association Probate and Guardianship Committee, as well as chair of the Certified Professional Guardian Board.

“Rachelle, having served as a court commissioner now for eight years, will come to the bench with a great deal of judicial experience. With so much turnover on the Spokane County Superior Court bench, Rachelle will be able to step in and immediately and substantially contribute to the court’s work," Inslee said.

She received her law degree from Gonzaga University School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Washington University.

Her appointment is effective January 2019.
