Inslee appoints David A. Steiner to King County Superior Court

Story Body

Gov. Jay Inslee appointed Judge David A. Steiner to the King County Superior Court today. He replaces Judge Cheryl Carey, who is retiring on April 1.

Steiner has more than two decades of judicial experience in King County. For the past 23 years, he has served as a judge on the King County District Court, and for three of those years, he served as presiding judge.

Also during his time on the King County District Court bench, Steiner served as president of the Washington State District and Municipal Court Judges Association.

"For years now, David has immersed himself in judicial committee work, analyzing and seeking to address the challenging issues that face the justice system," Inslee said. "On a court with so many new judges, his vast judicial experience will be welcomed."

He received his law degree from Seattle University and bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington.
