Governor Jay Inslee today announced the appointment of Raymond Clary to the Spokane County Superior Court. Clary replaces Tari Eitzen, who is retiring after a distinguished career on the bench since 1994. Clary’s term begins in January, 2015.
Clary has a civil litigation and trial law practice at the Spokane firm of Etter, McMahon, Lamberson, Clary & Oreskovich. He graduated cum laude from Gonzaga University School of Law, where he was a Thomas More Scholar. Clary’s B.A. is from Eastern Washington, where he was on the President’s Honor Roll and made the National Dean’s List.
“Ray is an extremely well qualified and intelligent lawyer who will serve the Spokane Superior Court well,” said Inslee. “He has made a lasting impact on his community through his volunteerism and I am proud to appoint him to this position.”
Clary was awarded the Community Impact Award in 2013 from the Martin Luther King, Jr. Family Outreach Center. He has contributed much of his time to pro bono legal service over the years, receiving a Pro Bono Publico Service Commendation from the Washington State Bar Association.
Clary was the Advisory Director for the Morning Star Boys’ Ranch for more than 10 years. He is also a former Golden Gloves Boxing Champion.
