Inslees invite trick-or-treaters to summit Mount Capitol Campus

Story Body

Trick-or-treaters are invited to put on their parkas, clip their carabiners, strap on their snowshoes, and stow their strongest climbing rope for a Mountaineer Halloween at the summit of Executive Residence Peak with Gov. Jay Inslee.

“The mountains are calling and trick-or-treaters must come,” Inslee said. “I hope everyone braves the wilds of Mount Capital Campus to join Trudi and me at the summit.”

On Tuesday, Oct. 31, the Inslees will hand out Washington state chocolates and apples to trick-or-treaters at the Executive Residence on the Capitol Campus. Mountain guides from the Washington State Patrol will open doors for the event at 6 p.m., and the festivities end at 7:30 p.m.

No state funds are used for the decorations or candy, and reports of Saint Bernard dogs carrying canteens cannot be confirmed at this time.

Media who wish to join the expedition must RSVP to simon.vila@gov.wa.gov by noon on Oct. 31.
