Walla Walla Community College Board of Trustees

Establishes and reviews college policies and oversees the general management of Walla Walla Community College. The Board also sets the college's strategic direction, approves budgets, and represents the public interest and functions to ensure the basic fiscal integrity of the college.

The student member must be selected from a list of candidates, of at least three and not more than five, submitted by the governing body of the associated students and must be a full-time student in good standing at the university at the time of appointment.

Women, Interagency Committee of State Employed

Examines and defines issues pertaining to the rights and needs of women employed in state government and make recommendations to the Governor and state agencies with respect to desirable changes in program and law- especially in the area of education, training, career development, and other conditions of employment.

Member Requirements: One woman representative from each state agency or institution of higher education employing not less than 25 women. Agencies employing more than 2,000 women shall select one representative for every 2,000 women employed.

Women’s Commission, Washington State

The purpose of the Commission is to improve the wellbeing of women, by enabling them to participate fully in all fields of endeavor, assisting them in obtaining governmental services, and promoting equal compensation and fairness in employment for women. The Commission shall address issues relevant to the problems and needs of women, such as domestic violence, child care, child support, sexual discrimination, sexual harassment, equal compensation and job pathways opportunities in employment, and the specific needs of women of color.

Provides guidance and recommendations to the legislature. Ensure the workforce education investment account are producing the intended results and are effectively increasing student success and career readiness, such as by increasing retention, completion & job placement rates.

Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board

Serves as a partnership of labor, business, and government dedicated to helping Washington state residents obtain and succeed in family-wage jobs, while meeting employer' needs for skilled workers. As a state agency, the Workforce Board oversees a workforce development system that includes 18 education and training programs receiving almost $1 billion annually in state and federal funds. The Board concentrates it major efforts on planning, coordination evaluation, policy analysis, and recommending improvements to the state's training system.
